About us
Since 1995 the South Western Ambulance Charity has been 'going the extra mile' for the staff and volunteers of the South Western Ambulance Service, and the South West communities that we serve.
As an NHS charity we raise funds to help the NHS go even further to benefit patients. We do this by;
Supporting our exceptional people
We extend the support and services available to our exceptional people, staff and volunteers, to help them with their physical health and mental wellbeing.
We enhance the personal development of staff and volunteers through training and development bursaries.
Supporting South West communities
We work to improve cardiac arrest survival rates with defibrillator placement, maintenance and training, as well as helping communities to learn CPR.
Increased public access to defibrillators results in more people receiving a life-saving shock, giving patients the best possible chance of survival.
Supporting our volunteer responders
Community First Responders (CFRs) operate within their communies, providing lifesaving emergency aid early and ahead of ambulance arrival. They help to save lives, reduce pain and provide reassurance to those requiring emergency care. Donations provide enhanced equipment and training.
CFRs can be called on at any time, day or night, and as the most rural Ambulance Service in England, the contribution of the CFRs is invaluable.
How we use Exeter Lottery donations
Donations are ring-fenced for use in the Exeter area to 'go the extra mile' for our ambulance service staff and CFR volunteers, and the community that we serve.
We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our services.
Thank you for your support and we wish you good luck!
